I’m Wiebke Schlæger, a senior knitwear designer and consultant with over 17 years of experience working with fashion brands across menswear, womenswear, kidswear, and circular knitwear development.
I work internationally with teams that value clarity, craftsmanship, and thoughtful decision-making in knitwear design and development.
When knitwear becomes complex, I support teams by translating creative ideas into producible solutions, aligning design ambition with technical reality, and guiding collections from concept through development with confidence.
My work sits at the intersection of design leadership, technical expertise, and strategy. I use tools such as 3D knit development and AI-supported imagery
selectively, where they genuinely add value — to improve communication, reduce unnecessary sampling loops, and support more efficient development without compromising creative intent.
Alongside commercial knitwear development, I also work on high-end and artistic knitwear projects, integrating artwork, complex graphics, and experimental techniques into knit structures. Moving fluently between commercial realities and expressive, concept-driven design — while maintaining full technical control — is a balance I’m known for.
