Knitwear Design Direction & Development Consulting
Knitwear with Intent
Eiyo Studio is a senior knitwear design and consulting studio working with international fashion brands and development teams on premium knitwear, material strategy, and design concepts, supported by advanced 3D knit technologies.
-
Led by Wiebke Schlæger, the studio works at the intersection of design, material intelligence, and concept development. With a background rooted in both creative practice and technical knitwear expertise, Eiyo Studio supports brands in shaping collections that are thoughtful, relevant, and built with intent.
Rather than operating as a traditional studio or agency, Eiyo Studio works closely with internal teams — offering senior-level guidance, clarity, and continuity across collection development phases. Each collaboration is shaped by context, craft, and a deep understanding of how knitwear lives within a brand’s wider narrative.
-
We support brands across menswear, womenswear, and kidswear, working primarily with classic knitwear — from essential sweaters to technically driven knit constructions — and, where relevant, knit-related cut-and-sewn styles.
Our role sits between creative direction and technical reality, helping teams translate ideas into clear, producible products and structured development processes.
Tools such as 3D knit development with APEXFiz and AI-supported imagery are used selectively — to reduce sampling loops and support decision-making.
-
We partner with brands to shape knitwear collections that are clear in concept, precise in execution, and commercially grounded — bringing calm structure to complex development processes.
From early-stage startups to established brands, Eiyo Studio collaborates with premium partners across menswear, womenswear, and kidswear. With extensive experience working across brand, development, and production environments, we bridge creative intent with technical feasibility.
Partners tend to value a strong design identity, material quality, and a thoughtful approach to development. Engagements range from short-term concept support to longer-term creative partnerships, often working alongside in-house teams during design and development phases.
Eiyo Studio is most effective in environments that value collaboration, clarity, and long-term thinking — where craft, innovation, and brand integrity are treated with equal importance.
Eiyo Studio
Inspired by the Japanese word eiyō 栄養, meaning nourishment, Eiyo Studio values careful, intentional knitwear. Our process emphasizes depth, knowledge, and mindful choices — prioritising quality and longevity over fast trends and excess — so each piece reaches its full potential.

It was a great experience working with Wiebke during her time as Senior Knitwear Designer at Tommy Hilfiger. Her creativity in knit pattern design — particularly her attention to detail and colour combinations — truly impressed me.
Her tech packs were consistently accurate and highly detailed, which made the development process much easier on our side, even for very complex styles. We developed many beautiful knitwear pieces together, and it remains a truly memorable period.
